I haven't written in awhile so here it goes, this weekend Oct. 17 is the 8th year anniversary of my late husband Eric's passing. Sigh. It was the first and only time I have seen death, right in front of me. He was a good man, and I don't know if Jerid would remember him, but a he was a great father as well. I don't know how normal it is to have tramatic experiances play out in your head when the anniversary of it comes around but I can remember it like it was yesterday and tomorrow all at the same time. sigh. When I think of it I feel the same panic and helplessness as I did eight years ago. So all I can think to do is to honor his memory by taking Jerid to see Where the Wild Things Are, on Saturday. Because had he lived we would be going anyway.

Do you believe some people are more fortunate than others or do you think people create their own luck? In your opinion, are some people cursed?

I do believe some people have the fortune angel on their shoulder, and I also believe that ther is something to creating your own luck I think it has alot to do with fate and following your bliss, I think the more true you are to your self and others, good fortune will follow. I don't know maybe I'm just an optimist, whatever.

I have to admit I am of two minds about it. I was a sixteen year old driver, I was resposible. I got my license and got a job. but on the other hand my brother was a sixteen year old driver and he was very irresponsible and I wouldn't have given him the keys to any car, hell I don't think I would do it today and he is over thirty years old. I think it depends on the sixteen year old, how responsible they are and how much they have earned their parents trust. so my response is maybe. depending on the kid.

so far this year has been filled with mixed emotions. On the third of this month my friend Missy had given me the worst news that a friend could hear. Mealie, one of her twins, had passed. Another friend,Linda, not long before that told me that her breast cancer came back in her hip. Another friend, Meggan, got her car stollen (was soon recovered a week later) and Justin's dad will not be coming home (which meens the house will most likely be lost.) Justin was really sick the last few days and I'm not feeling well. the only really positive thing is that Jerid is saying more words, (to his speech therapist not anyone else) which makes me very happy. there is so much pain going on around me, and it seems all I can do is stand there and be present, to lend an ear and to help hold those who need to shead a tear. I just wish I could do more. It makes me sad to see my friends go threw so much, and I can't help think about how much they have helped me get threw diffulties in my life, and it makes me greatful for what they have done for me. I wish them luck and I hope the year gets better, it's got to. right?
